Due to popular demand, VATE is offering another session on the VCE EAL Listening task.
Monday 29 May
Time: 4pm – 4.30pm (Registration) 4.30pm – 6pm
Venue: Elwood College, 101 Glen Huntly Rd, Elwood
Facillitator: Janelle Lugg, Elwood College
This will be a practical and informative workshop that will provide teachers with strategies about how to approach the teaching of the listening component in the new VCE EAL Study Design. We will look at sample listening tasks and marking criteria. There will be discussion about how to locate and choose resources, create your own sample listening tasks and prepare students for the exam. We will also look at how to integrate the teaching of listening skills into Years 10 and 11 EAL programs.
Janelle Lugg is currently the EAL Curriculum Coordinator at Elwood College. She has over 14 years of experience teaching EAL in a range of institutions from language schools, secondary schools and higher education institutes both here in Australia and in the UK.

Cancellations received between 5 and 3 working days prior to the event date will be charged a 15% cancellation fee. Cancellations received less than 2 working days prior to the event will receive NO REFUND. If you do not attend and have not notified the office in writing according to the above policy, you will receive no refund.
